We are seeking a VP of Marketing and Communications to partner with the CEO and rest of the executive team to shape and deliver the overall communications strategy for Lancium. The candidate will directly build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure consistent and aligned messaging that reinforce Lancium’s strategy, values, and priorities.

The right candidate is an independent and flexible professional who can set a strategy for communications, influence others, drive alignment across diverse teams, and execute key deliverables on time and on budget. Duties
  • Be an inspiring storyteller, working closely with the CEO and executive team to set a proactive PR and corporate communications agenda across existing and new channels
  • Partner with subject matter experts to craft and deliver a narrative or set of key messages that align with our branding strategy, communications principles, mission and core values in a manner that enhances the perception of Lancium
  • Hire and manage our PR/media firm in the drafting and distribution of press releases and responding to media inquiries, and creation of marketing collateral
  • Build high-level contacts with a wide variety of stakeholders that shape public opinion, including media, editors, influential third parties, trade associations, industry analysts and other affiliated groups
  • Hire and manage the firm that will further develop and improve Lancium’s corporate website, and manage and further develop Lancium’s social media strategy, in partnership with relevant internal and external parties
  • Set, track, and report key metrics that demonstrate the impact of communications strategies and tactics
  • Partner with exec team to define the internal communication strategy that aligns with Lancium’s mission, core values and cultural goals. Develop the roadmap required to achieve the strategy and to provide continual and transparent communication to current employees.
  • Work with HR in developing a company intranet over time, and participate in creating other internal communications assets (e.g., monthly emails)
Required Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications and/or public relations, with relevant industry experience a plus but not necessary (e.g. power, renewables, data centers, crypto)
  • Experience in senior leadership roles driving a proactive external and internal communications agenda, which includes a proven track record of building and advancing unique narratives
  • A reputation and track record of being energetic, innovative, enthusiastic, and agile. Willingness and ability to act as a change agent and offer opinions and judgments
  • Proven ability to manage crisis communications as well as reducing risk through effective scenario planning and preparation
  • Fluency with public policy and government affairs a plus
  • Ability to partner effectively with external resources and hire and manage a team over time, but also initially roll up sleeves and drive priorities with appropriate external resources
